Volvo XC90 Plug-In Hybrid
The all-wheel drive Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid benefits from a handsome, sculpted look that goes much deeper than the sheet metal. Nowhere is this more obvious than under the hood, where the goals of improved fuel economy and improved power are seemingly at odds with one another. Power comes from a 2.0L turbocharged engine that is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The result is an almost unbelievable 455 horsepower and 523 lb. ft. of torque with the addition of the electric motor. The XC90 PHEV has an all-electric range of 35 miles and a charging time of 5 hours using a 240-volt level 2 charger.
The 2026 XC90 Plug-in Hybrid is offered in several trims T8 Core 7-Seater, T8 Plus 6 and 7-Seater, T8 Ultra 6 and 7-seater, and the newly added T8 ultra 6 and 7-seater Dark theme trims. The base XC90 Plug-in Hybrid comes with plenty of luxury features, as is generally expected in this class. Standard items include a rear spoiler, a power liftgate, power sunroof, a roof rack with a 220 lb. capacity, heated power folding side mirrors, LED headlights, 18-inch wheels, heated front seats, driver seat memory, automatic dual-zone climate control, a satellite radio, an 11-speaker system, a 9-inch touchscreen, cruise control, a mobile hotspot, smart device connectivity, 4 USB ports, and a 12.3-inch gauge cluster.
The Ultra trim adds 20-inch touchscreen, cooled front seats, driver and passenger seat memory, ambient lighting, a 14-speaker sound system, voice activated navigation, a head-up display, and a leather wrapped steering wheel.
Newly added Dark theme trims sport glossy black roof rails, black front grille, black window surrounds, and 21-inch black diamond cut alloy wheels.
Standard safety features across the lineup include front and rear parking sensors, active lane departure, active blind spot, forward collision mitigation with left turn assist, rear collision mitigation, front pedestrian detection, a driver attention alert, and front cross traffic mitigation.
